GYROKINESIS® Rejuvenation Course- Bali

Events // January 07, 2015

The GYROKINESIS® Rejuvenation Course is a special course that Gyrokinesis founder, Juliu Horvath created for Gyrotonic & Gyrokinesis Trainers.  Unlike a Gyrokinesis educational course, at the Gyrokinesis Rejuvenation Course students aren’t asked to memorize exercise sequences, or expand on teaching techniques. The Rejuvenation Course is meant to be “experienced” by the students.  In this course the job of the student is to relax, reflect, and recharge.  As Trainers we tend to be quite good at taking care of the needs of others, but sometimes neglect to give that same care, & attention to our own needs.  Recognizing this tendency in himself, and in other trainers, Juliu developed the Rejuvenation Course as a way to address this imbalance.  In the course he shares some of the tools, and techniques with which he has learned to bring rejuvenation into his own life.

Juliu selected the peaceful island village of Ubud, Bali for the fall 2014 courses, for a few good reasons.  The island is a central location for our growing Australian, and Asian communities.  Having the course at the beautiful Royal Pita Maha resort allowed us to be in a peaceful, natural setting, surrounded by fruit trees, flowers, trickling streams, and lots of fresh air.   And, last but not least, the Balinese people are kind, and gracious hosts.

Ninety six students, from thirteen different countries participated in one (or both) of the two 8 day courses that were conducted between October 26, 2014, and November 18, 2014.  During each eight day course, students enjoyed three healthy, vegetable, & fruit based meals prepared by the amazing staff of the Royal Pita Maha hotel.  Each morning started with dry scrubbing for mild detoxification, followed by Gyrokinesis class.  And, each afternoon Juliu conducted a  two hour breathing class.  In between classes students could choose from a wide array of spa treatments, as well as therapeutic sessions with French Osteopath, Jan Trividic, who traveled to Ubud specifically to treat students at the course.

True to Juliu’s philosophy of addressing “the whole organism”, all left the course feeling rejuvenated, inspired, and more awake in body, mind, and spirit.

A special thanks to Gusti, and all of the rest of the amazing staff at the Royal Pita Maha, who went above and beyond to make our stay at the Resort/spa amazing, and to Ketut Mendan at the Payogan Homestay for hosting several of us at his beautiful family homestay.

An extra special thanks to Gyrotonic Master Trainer, Victoria Limadabrata, owner of Integrated Movement Studios, who organized the course!
